Chris Darrow Los Angeles, California
Chris Darrow was a California roots-rock musician who played with David Lindley, Kaliedoscope, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and The Corvettes (who eventually became Linda Rondstadt's backing band). He started a solo career in 1970, recording for Fantasy, United Artists, Takoma and Taxim. In 2012, Drag City reissued his debut LP, Artist Proof. I have been out of the Wilco loop for a while now, but this album has pulled me back in. I adore it. Tweedy and co. know how to write gentle, heartfelt songs while adding just the right amount of unusual synth additions. The second half of the record ends INCREDIBLY strongly. If you've been out of Wilco for a while like me, check it out.
